UPDATE - IGH Moose gig is on for March 22 

Well, at the last minute, things worked out, so we will in fact be performing at the Inver Grove Heights Moose Lodge on Saturday March 22nd. We start at 8:00 pm. Sorry about all the confusion, and we hope to see you there!

Two performances at IGH Moose have been canceled 

Unfortunately, the March 22nd and April 5th performances at the Inver Grove Heights Moose Lodge are canceled. Not sure what happened but there was some communication problems with the Moose management. We love playing at The Moose and hope to get something scheduled in the future. In the meantime, please check our schedule for other events coming up.

Northwoods Country Rally Update 

We are scheduled to play from 4 PM to 7 PM on June 7th at the 2nd Annual Northwoods Country Rally for 2014.

Northwoods Country Rally 2014 

Plans are being made for the 2nd Annual Northwoods Country Rally for 2014. We played there last year and had a great time, up until the storm came through and almost blew us off the stage (see the posting from May 31, 2013). We have been invited to play again this year, and are really excited about it.

The event takes place on June 6th and 7th, in Glen Flora, Wisconsin (about 15 miles east of Ladysmith). The band line-up is still being finalized, so we don't know for sure what day or time we will be playing. We will post details as soon as we know.

New Year's Eve at the Moose! 

It is confirmed. We will be playing at the Inver Grove Heights Moose Lodge on New Year's Eve. The Moose welcomes the public for this type of event so please consider joining us as we say good-bye to 2013 and welcome in 2014.

VFW in South St. Paul 

We have played several times this year at the VFW in South St. Paul. We always have a great time at the VFW and thank the management and staff for welcoming us there. Last Friday November 8th we were there and it looked like everyone had as much fun listening and dancing as we did playing. Thanks to all who have been out to see us at the SSP VFW.

St. Croix Casino Danbury  

We played at the St. Croix Casino in Danbury Wisconsin for their Sunday classic country afternoon. Wow! Had a great crowd and an awesome time. We hope to be invited back, so keep watching our schedule.

Northwoods Country Rally 

Today we played at the first annual Northwoods Country Rally in Glen Flora Wisconsin. It was a great time! We had a guest musician with us - Andrea Christopherson on fiddle. Great music!

We met a lot of nice people - great classic country fans. Everyone involved with the event was great to work with. John and Frosty, the sound and lights guys from Eau Claire did a great job setting up and mixing the sound. And thanks Wayne and Double-D.

Of course, outdoor events are always at the mercy of the weather. It started out really nice, but a couple hours into the show, a huge storm came through that brought things to a grinding halt. When the crew realized the storm was building, they started hooking the corners of the tent up to tractors and trucks. Even though the wind was extremely strong, the tent stayed in place (except for a few perimeter poles), and things were back on track after a half hour delay.

Surprise appearance at the Gandy 

Southwood is scheduled to make a 'surprise' appearance at the Gandy Dancer Saloon, Danbury, WI on Saturday, May 25th at 4:00 PM.  This will be either a 1 or 2 set appearance so please try to get there at 4:00, or if interested, the Travelin Moburys will be appearing at the Gandy from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM so come for an afternoon of great music.

Bill Travers at Midwest Country 

Our very own Bill Travers will be performing at the  Midwest Country Theater in Sandstone Minnesota on April 25th from 2 PM - 4 PM. The show's theme is "Tribute To Country Stars". Bill will be doing some of the best songs of Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson.
